SOME IMPORTANT QUESTIONS THAT MIGHT HELP YOU

HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED HELP?

If stress, anxiety, or sadness are affecting your physical, emotional, or mental well-being, it may be time to seek support.

A holistic approach will help you rebalance your mind, body, and emotions so you can restore your overall well-being.

IS IT NORMAL TO FEEL THIS WAY?

We all face challenges, but if anxiety, exhaustion, or disconnection from yourself persist, it’s time to listen to your inner voice. If you’re feeling stuck in a state of distress, emptiness, or constant lack of motivation, it’s important to pay attention.

You’re not alone in this. There are tools and therapies that can help you regain balance. Psychological therapy addresses the root of the issue, taking into account your lifestyle, emotions, and environment.

CAN THERAPY REALLY HELP ME?

Yes. Therapy is a safe space where you can better understand your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
It will help you find strategies to face challenges and improve your emotional well-being.

WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME TO SEEK HELP?

If stress, negative emotions, or lack of motivation are affecting your daily life, it’s time to put yourself first.

When emotional discomfort interferes with your work, relationships, or quality of life, it’s a good time to speak with a professional.
You don’t have to wait to hit rock bottom to start feeling better.

Let’s Talk About…

The team of professionals and experts at Bonaire Holistic offers you a space where we address mental health issues in a simple and educational way

Self-Care Guidelines for a Kinder Relationship with Yourself

Have you ever thought about how you get along with yourself? Self-love is a quality I encourage you to cultivate, and here I’ll share how we can work on it to foster it: Most of the time, when we go through vulnerable situations, we aren’t particularly kind to ourselves. In fact, we tend to get stuck on those thoughts that cause us the most pain.

Here’s something I want to share with you: These thoughts are completely natural and happen often to everyone. But it’s important to learn how not to get hooked on them.

Memory

Memory is a dynamic process that allows us to store information, data, or experiences that will be useful for our future decisions.

Memory is a complex brain function. It is a cycle that consists of receiving external or internal signals, encoding them, storing them, and retrieving them. This process does not have a unique location in the brain; it is a system that works in the form of a network. The memory code is relational. Each experience forms a new connection, and a single neuron in memory can be connected to more than one network.

Nutrition and Mental Health

If you’ve ever found yourself absentmindedly digging into a tub of ice cream after a bad day, you’re already aware that there’s some kind of link between food and mood. Beyond that cinematic moment, we now know there is indeed a relationship between what we eat and how we feel.

This gut-brain connection starts with serotonin — a neurotransmitter that helps regulate sleep, appetite, mood, and also plays a role in pain inhibition. Around 95% of the body’s serotonin is produced in the digestive tract, which is lined with millions of nerve cells, or neurons.

What is Binge Drinking?

Binge drinking is defined as heavy episodic drinking — the consumption of the largest possible amount of alcohol in the shortest possible time. The goal is to achieve the desired effects of alcohol (intoxication) as quickly as possible.

According to Spain’s National Plan on Drugs, binge drinking is defined as the consumption of five or more alcoholic drinks by men, and at least four by women, within a two-hour period.

This pattern of excessive alcohol consumption is often encouraged by the widespread practice of “botellón” — public street drinking — a behaviour that has become normalised among young people in recent years.

What to Take for a Headache: Treatments and Tips to Stop It

The term cephalalgia refers to pain or discomfort localised in any part of the head. In reality, it is only a symptom that may be caused by a range of factors (constitutional, tension-related, tumorous, inflammatory, etc.).

In this article, we will focus on a specific type of headache that affects around ten per cent of the population: migraine headaches.

Can a child or teenager be depressed?

Statistics show that around 2–3% of children and adolescents may suffer from depression. The characteristics and symptoms they present vary and are different depending on their age.

The presentation of depression in childhood and adolescence differs in some ways from what we are used to seeing in adults, although some of the indicators may be the same.
